Erna Frieda was the youngest daughter of Siegmund and Amalie Selig. She was born on June 1, 1909 in Bischofsheim. 

She lived there at Frankfurter Str. 9 until 1935. On April 15, 1936, she fled to Cape Town/South Africa together with her husband Erich Jakob Rosenberg, who came from Mainz and whom she had married just the day before. She had previously lived in Bad Kreuznach for a short time.

Their daughter Rita Helen Rosenberg was born in 1941. 

In 1977, Erna Frieda and Erich Jakob Rosenberg emigrated to Australia shortly after their children. They no longer saw a future in South Africa due to the political situation. 

Erich Jakob Rosenberg died in Sydney/Australia in 1990 at the age of 86, Erna Frieda Rosenberg on November 10, 1997 also in Sydney/Australia at the age of 88. Both are buried in Macquarie Park Cemetery in New South Wales, Australia.
